Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Produce review engagements and review compilations to ensure compliance with professional standards.
  • Meet with clients to assess their needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Supervise the daily activities of accounting technicians, ensuring quality, accuracy, and respect for deadlines.
  • Ensure an equitable distribution of tasks and assignments based on each individual's skills and organizational priorities.
  • Provide continuous support to promote professional development, including coaching sessions, constructive feedback, and performance monitoring.
  • Identify the training needs of accounting technicians and organize workshops, training sessions, and/or mentoring programs.
  • Participate in the annual evaluation of technicians, identifying strengths and areas for improvement to align individual goals with the firm's needs.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Maintain a proactive relationship with clients by ensuring constant and personalized follow-up.
  • Review corporate tax returns to guarantee their accuracy and compliance with tax requirements.
  • Participate in the review of individual and trust tax returns using the Taxprep software.
  • Review and improve internal processes to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize workflow.
  • Ensure that all certification processes and tax files comply with current regulations and conformity standards.
  • Stay informed of new accounting and tax standards.
  • Organize training for the certification team to ensure practices align with the latest rules.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, or workshops to promote the firm, strengthen your network, and identify collaboration opportunities.
  • Collaborate on any other projects as required by the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Accounting (DESS)
  • CPA designation
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in an accounting firm
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience with Caseware and TaxPrep
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and autonomy
